Dave has over 45 years experience of caving and is a nationally qualified Caving Instructor (CIC). He has lived and worked in the Yorkshire Dales for over 35 years and has an extensive knowledge of the local cave systems. As well as the British Isles, he has caved all over the world including Europe and Vietnam.
Dave holds a MLTE Mountain Walking Leaders Award. He has a vast experience of walking both locally, in other areas in the British Isles and the world.
Dave also has CIEH Health & Safety and Risk Assessment qualifications and holds a current First Aid Certificate and Mountain Rescue Casualty Care Certificate. Until recently he was a duty controller with the local cave and mountain rescue team.
Pam Hickin works with Dave. She has a background in Youth & Community Work and Training. In her work with youth services she took groups on outdoor activities such as caving, residentials and co-ordinated the accreditation of young people’s achievements locally. Having worked with Yorkshire Dales Guides on an ad hoc basis since 1992 in May 2008 Pam became more involved. Pam also holds a MLTE Mountain Walking Leaders Award.
Pam is a qualified teacher and youth worker. She also has CIEH Risk Assessment and Advanced Health & Safety Certificates. Pam holds a current First Aid in the Outdoors certificate and is a member of the local cave and fell rescue team
