Caving Competition Result

What was the name of the Cave – ALUM POT is the correct answer.
Several people got this right so we asked James at Castleberg Outdoors in Settle to pick one of the names “out of a hat” All written onto neatly folded pieces of paper so he could not see anything.  The winner he pulled out was Rachel Storry.  She is very happy about the caving but particularly pleased about the meal at The Traddock !
All the other people with the correct answer will be given a one off discount voucher for one of our activities.
Watch out for another competition soon.  This one will be aimed at walkers and/or people wanting to improve their navigation skills.  Its all part of celebrating our 20th year in business.

Competition Time – Win a SRT Caving Day for 2 people

Can you name the cave and win a day’s caving activity?  In this months Trail Magazine there is an article about caving in Yorkshire called Underground Overground. Hanna, Guy and Ben were given instruction in SRT in our barn at Stainforth and then taken down a cave where they used their new skills.  The article is well worth a read and has some good pictures.  I know we might be bias but this is a good day out for anyone with a sense of adventure.  Update. The Traddock at Austwick have now also offered a three course meal as part of the prize so you can have a good day caving and then a lovely meal too.

If you would like to win a day similar to this for 2 people then you just need to answer one question.  What is the name of the cave that Hanna abseiled into?

The answer can be found in the article in the magazine which is in the July edition of Trail and it is also on their Facebook page. If you want to know more about caving courses and trips with us then have a look on our website www.yorkshiredalesguides.co.uk

If you do not want to use the form then just email us the answer to the address at the top of the page, put Caving Competition in the subject line and tell us your full name and the answer.

The competition is open to anyone but you must be at least 16 to come on the day.  The winner will be chosen from all the correct email entries received by midnight on Sunday 10th July.  The prize caving day and meal will be arranged for a date suitable for the winner, subject to availability, and will need to be claimed by 31st December 2011.  The meal is food only and you will need to buy your own drinks. There are no cash alternatives.
